Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is submitted to the third-party provider that supplies those results; our servers do not retain a copy of the search. If a visitor contacts us, we receive the information included in that message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
The hosting environment records routine server-log information, such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or comparable technologies may also support basic analytics and, when relevant, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles.
External Resources
Links may lead to county or state record portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy rules of those services, rather than this policy, apply to information submitted there. That includes sponsored search results supplied by an outside provider.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Providers that host or support the service process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as the stated operational purposes require. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or user profiles maintained by this site.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent us information, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Privacy Requests
Depending on residence, a visitor may have rights to seek access, correction, or deletion of personal data held by a website. Research identified no enacted comprehensive New York consumer-privacy or data-broker statute that creates a general deletion or universal-opt-out right. Because we retain little information, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs, then removing data found there. Use the Contact page to make a request. New York FOIL, Public Officers Law Article 6, §§84–90, concerns agency records, not this private site; a request about a public record belongs with the office that holds it.
Policy Revisions
Any revision to this policy will appear here. Continued use after a posted revision signifies acceptance of the revised policy.
